Ukraine will be hit by frost up to -19° on New Year: the forecaster named the dates.

According to ТСН: In the coming days, winter cold will prevail in Ukraine, caused by the formation of cyclones over Eastern Europe. Daily, snowfall and wet snow of varying intensity are expected, and the temperature will remain below 0°C.

On Tuesday, December 30, we expect snowfall across Ukraine. At night, the air temperature will fluctuate from -3 to -8 °C, while in the Carpathians it will drop to -10...-14 °C. During the day, thermometers will show -1-6 °C, and in the south and Transcarpathia, it will be around 0 °C.

On Wednesday, December 31, a stationary cyclone will influence Ukraine, so light snow is also expected in most regions. At night, the temperature will decrease to -7-12 °C, and in the Carpathians — to -16 °C. During the day, the temperature will be -10 °C, while in the southern regions it will range from -3 °C to +2 °C.

Thursday, January 1, will bring light snow to the western and northern regions, while no significant precipitation is forecasted in the southeastern part. At night, the temperature will fluctuate between -8-13 °C, while in the Carpathians and Precarpathians it will drop to -14-19 °C. During the day, the temperature will range from -4 to -9 °C, with a possible rise to 1° C in the south.

On Friday, January 2, at night in the west, and during the day in the north and center of Ukraine, snow is expected, with some places possibly experiencing snowstorms. At night, the temperature will drop to -7-12 °C, in the Left Bank region — to -13-17 °C. Daytime temperatures will be around 2-7 °C of frost, while in the southern regions and Precarpathia it will be around 0°.

The forecasters of Ukrhydrometcentre also expressed their views on the weather in January 2026. The average temperature in January will be below normal, while the precipitation will remain within the usual values.

Winter weather traditionally brings not only cold but also snowfall that can affect transportation and daily life.
