Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center forecasts an anomalously cold January 2026.
According to ТСН: The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center predicts that in January 2026 the average temperature will be lower than usual.
"The average monthly temperature is expected to be between -1 and -7 °C, which is 1.5 °C below normal," the message from Ukrainian forecasters says.
As for precipitation, in the first month of the new year, the amount will not exceed normal levels.
"The monthly amount of precipitation is expected to be between 28 and 79 mm, which is within the norm (80-100%)", the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center noted.
Temperature Indicators in Ukraine
Forecasters also reminded that the average air temperature in January in Ukraine ranges from -6 to 0 °C, while in Crimea it ranges from -1 °C to +4 °C.

Forecaster Natalka Didenko reported that warming is expected in Ukraine on Friday, December 26. Meanwhile, snowstorms are forecasted, and icy conditions may form on the roads.
