Two days before Donald Trump's inauguration in Washington, a protest against his presidency and in support of human rights will take place. It is expected that about 50,000 people will gather for the «People's March on Washington». This is reported by The Washington Post.

It is noted that over 10 applications for rallies have been submitted to the National Park Service, which will continue until the end of January 2025. They will cover topics related to elections, democracy, women's rights, the war between Israel and Gaza, and the Women’s March demonstration.

Main issues concerning the march participants:

  • women's right to abortion after the overturning of the Roe v. Wade case;
  • climate change;
  • equal pay for men and women;
  • paid family leave on a federal level;
  • reinstatement of the child tax credit expanded during the pandemic;
  • fair wages;
  • combating gun violence;
  • creating a plan for immigrants to provide them with a path to citizenship in the USA.

As reported, the elected 47th President of the USA Donald Trump is preparing major changes during his return to the White House. Although Trump often avoided specifics, over more than a year of political speeches, he outlined a broad plan that combines traditional conservative approaches to taxes, regulation, and cultural issues with a more populist focus on trade and changing the international role of the USA. This plan also envisages cutting federal government efforts in protecting civil rights and expanding presidential powers.

By the way, the Canadian police are preparing for an influx of asylum seekers. This is related to the fact that Americans began moving from the USA after Donald Trump's election victory.
