Amir Khan's performances in boxing at risk

According to The Sun: Amir Khan expressed his outrage over the 'disgusting' fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, warning that boxing could face dangerous mismatches.

However, the fight will not be professionally sanctioned due to THE FIVE-FOOT DIFFERENCE.

Paul fights within a weight of 200 pounds (14 st 4 lbs), while Davis continues to compete in the 135-pound category (9 st 9 lbs) and is also eight inches shorter at 5 feet 5 inches tall.

Warning about the danger to the sport

Khan, who retired in 2022 after a heavy loss to Kell Brook, warns of the dangers if such fights continue.

“I mean, it's disgusting, and you know someone could really get seriously injured in all this experimental boxing,” he said.
“That's why I respect Tûrki Alaalshi, as he doesn't want to have anything to do with these YouTubers and these exhibition fights.”

Paul has a record of 12-1 in his boxing career, with his only loss occurring in 2023 against Tommy Fury – he lost by decision in Saudi Arabia.

He recently defeated former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June, ranking 14th in the WBA. In November, he sparked controversy by bringing Mike Tyson out of retirement at the age of 58 for an eight-round two-minute fight.

Davis, meanwhile, recently settled for a draw with Lamont Roach in March, and a rematch was canceled to instead fight Paul.

“At the end of the day, we are prize fighters, and if you're going to earn the most money in a fight ... then yes, you go for the fight,” notes Khan.

Currently, the situation surrounding the Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis fight raises concerns within the boxing community. Above all, Amir Khan's words underscore the importance of safety in the sport. Continuing such fights without proper sanctioning could threaten the health of athletes and the reputation of boxing as a whole.

Given the activity of new faces in boxing, Khan's reactions may serve as a signal for other athletes and organizations about the need for a more cautious approach to organizing fights, especially exhibitions.
