Yaroslava Mahuchikh at the London Diamond League Meeting

According to Espreso.tv: Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh secured a silver medal at the London Diamond League event, clearing 2.01 meters. This marked her fourth outdoor competition of the summer season, following earlier victories in Rabat (1.97 m) and at the Ukrainian Championships in Lviv.

Mahuchikh opened her campaign at 1.93 m. She needed two attempts at 1.96 m and also cleared 1.99 m on her second try. Australia’s Nicola Olyslagers likewise cleared 1.99 m in two jumps. The medals were ultimately decided at 2.01 m, a height both Mahuchikh and Olyslagers conquered on their third attempts. However, Olyslagers claimed the win on a countback, having used fewer overall attempts. Mahuchikh finished with silver, and her 2.01 m clearance equaled her best result of the season, previously set in January at the Oleksiy Demyanyuk Memorial in Lviv.
