According to The Sun: Premier League star Oleksandr Zinchenko has received a tax bill of £300,000 following a recent court defeat against HMRC, which pursued him for unpaid amounts.

The Arsenal defender has been handed a large bill for unpaid corporate tax.

GettyOleksandr Zinchenko has been hit with a huge tax bill.

This bill comes after the star decided to liquidate his image rights company this week.

The company provided part of his income from a successful career that includes four Premier League titles with Man City before moving to the Gunners for £30 million.

Tax authorities attempted to close the Alex Zinchenko Image Rights company at a High Court hearing in February over unpaid taxes.

However, the star's representatives assured that the bill would be settled.

The specific amounts of the unpaid tax were not disclosed during the hearing, which lasted only a few minutes.

Furthermore, Zinchenko received a £35,000 bill from his accountants who handle his tax affairs.

The 28-year-old athlete changed the name of his image rights company to Ozir Limited in July.

Zinchenko earns around £150,000 a week at Emirates, meaning he only needs two weeks to earn enough to pay the bill.

HMRC initiated the liquidation process of the company in September last year.

At hearings in London this year, the court learned that a deal had been reached.

Zinchenko was a director of the company and owned a sole stake until November 3, when his fellow director Artemi Ryabov, an official working at the Ukrainian Football Federation, became its new owner.

This situation highlights not only the financial challenges faced by professional athletes but also the importance of managing their finances. Zinchenko's tax case has drawn attention to both his personal financial situation and broader issues concerning taxation in the sporting environment, which may become a topic of discussion among players and their agents in the future.
