15-year-old Arsenal debutant decided the match with Leeds: how it happened.
According to The Sun: Max Daunman made a big impression when he came off the bench in Arsenal's winning match against Leeds on Saturday.
The 15-year-old midfielder actively participated in Arsenal's preseason preparations, which led to his inclusion in the matchday squad for the first home game of the season at the Emirates Stadium.
Daunman's introduction lifted the energy of the already electric crowd at the Emirates, which erupted in joy as the midfielder immediately went for the goal. His brilliant ball control was evident as he maneuvered between the already established Premier League defenders.
It almost seems like he floated on the pitch with the confidence of a younger boy in a playground, looking completely unfazed as a youth among men.
His confidence showed as he got on the ball a few times during his brief time on the pitch, sending two powerful but unsuccessful strikes shortly after coming into play.
His later won penalty - a trick he showcased in a preseason match, where he netted a penalty from Joaquín Llorente - was a decisive hallmark to finish off an impressive debut.
But had it not been for bureaucratic obstacles, Daunman, who turned 15 on December 31, could have made his debut last season - following in the footsteps of his teammate Ethan Nwaneri, who became the youngest debutant in Premier League history at 15 years and 181 days in September 2022.
Despite this, Daunman spent a significant part of the previous season training with the first team, including joining senior stars for a mid-season friendly trip to Dubai in February.
At that point, it was already clear that Mikel Arteta planned to involve the young player with the first team this season, but few could have imagined how sharp and immediate his impact would be.
The debut of 15-year-old Max Daunman in Arsenal's lineup sparked excitement among fans. His performance and confidence on the pitch once again confirmed his potential and great opportunities in world football. The coaching staff has high hopes for this young player, and he is already proving his worth on the pitch.Read also
