Aston Villa wants to sign Nkunku: details of the potential transfer.
Aston Villa is interested in Chelsea's surplus player Nkunku
According to The Sun: Christopher Nkunku, who has lost trust at Chelsea, is now the focus of Aston Villa's attention. The 27-year-old midfielder has not stepped onto the field for Chelsea this season and is considered a surplus player.
Chelsea's head coach, Enzo Maresca, plans to offload Nkunku along with forward Nicolas Jackson before the transfer window closes. While rumors linked Nkunku with a return to RB Leipzig, Aston Villa has now shown interest in signing him.
Maresca stated: 'Cristo is with us, as is Nico, but it's the same response as for Nico. We'll see if they stay here. It would be better if they find a solution, as they will be happier — and the same goes for the club. But a team needs to buy you. It's not that simple.'
Aston Villa has already contacted Chelsea regarding a possible deal for Nkunku and has been informed about the terms. They have also expressed interest in the Bayern midfielder. However, Jackson's transfer from Chelsea to Aston Villa is unlikely to happen in the near future.
Last season, Nkunku scored 15 goals in 48 matches for Chelsea, while Jackson netted 13 goals in 37 appearances.
Aston Villa has shown interest in signing Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea's surplus player who has not played this season.
