The men's national basketball team of Ukraine lost to Slovenia with a score of 71:84 in the fifth round of the Eurobasket-2025 qualifying group stage. The Ukrainian team has lost all chances to qualify for the tournament. This is reported by 'Glavcom' citing the Basketball Federation of Ukraine.

Ukraine lost in all four quarters - 22:24, 14:21, 19:21, and 16:18. The only Time Ukraine was ahead was at the end of the second minute after a three-pointer by Konev, with the Ukrainians leading 7:6. Throughout the rest of the game, our guys were catching up. Meanwhile, Slovenia's lead remained around 10 points, and for every successful action by the Ukrainians in attack, the opponent responded with their own.

The most productive players of the Ukrainian team were Bohdan Blyzniuk and Artem Pustovyi, who both scored 16 points. This match was the first for Ainars Bagatskis as head coach after returning to the team.

Ukraine will not be able to rise above the last fourth place in the group. The first three teams from the group will qualify for the Eurobasket.

As reported by 'Glavcom', Konev had violations of military registration data, which led to his detention at the border and delivery to the territorial center for recruitment and social support.

After resolving the documents, the player crossed the state border in accordance with current legislation. Thus, the forward will help the national team in the qualification matches of the European Championship.
