Bellew on the fight Usyk – Itauma: 'The 20-year-old Brit is not yet ready for the champion'.
Former world champion Tony Bellew shared his opinion on a potential bout between undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and 20-year-old British fighter Moses Itauma. According to Bellew, this fight is premature for the young talent.
Usyk will be the favorite in the fight against Itauma
The expert believes that Itauma has unique abilities, but he lacks the experience for a fight with Usyk. The Brit has yet to spend more than seven rounds in the ring, which is a serious disadvantage in a confrontation with the current champion.
It has also been reported that Itauma will soon fight Dillian Whyte on August 16, while Usyk recently confidently defended his titles by knocking out Daniel Dubois.
'What Moses lacks in experience, he compensates with skill. He is in no way ready for Oleksandr Usyk. A person who has not gone more than six or seven rounds is in no way ready,' Bellew said.
In Saudi Arabia, efforts are being made to organize a fight between Usyk and Itauma, offering the latter a huge purse in the event of a matchup.
Experienced champion Tony Bellew believes that young British fighter Moses Itauma is still not ready for a bout with Oleksandr Usyk due to the lack of necessary experience in the professional ring. Usyk, who successfully defended his titles, is considered the favorite in this potential matchup.Read also
