Ukrainian biathlete Yulia Dzhima placed fifth in the individual race of the World Biathlon Championship. This is the best result of her career, as she had previously never placed higher than sixth.

The first of the Ukrainians to start was Anastasia Merkushina, who made mistakes at the first and last shooting ranges. As a result, she finished outside the top 40. However, Ukrainian Kristina Dmitrenko managed to achieve 11th place.

Olena Horodna earned three penalty minutes due to three mistakes and found herself outside the top 60.

Let us remind you that the 2025 World Biathlon Championship started in the Swiss Lenzerheide, where the first individual start took place - the women's sprint. The tournament will run from February 12 to 23.

The calendar of the World Biathlon Championship consists of 12 races and includes a full program. The competitions began with a mixed relay and will conclude with mass starts on the final day.

The Ukrainian national team for the World Biathlon Championship in Lenzerheide consists of 12 athletes - six in the women's team and six in the men's team. The team includes three debutants: Vitaly Mandzin (men), as well as Olena Horodna and Dariya Chalyk (women).
