Boxer Berinchik lost by knockout in the fight for the lightweight world championship title.
Ukrainian boxer Denis Berinchik lost to American Keyshawn Davis by knockout
On February 15th, a fight for the WBO lightweight world championship title took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Denis Berinchik could not defend his title, losing to American Keyshawn Davis.
The Ukrainian suffered a knockdown in the third round but quickly got back on his feet and continued the fight. However, in the fourth round, Davis knocked out Berinchik, who could no longer get up.
This was Berinchik's first defeat, having previously achieved 19 victories in 19 bouts and becoming the world champion in May 2024. Davis currently has 13 victories and no losses.
It is worth mentioning that Oleksandr Usyk, the world heavyweight champion, ranked 7th in the list of the highest-paid athletes of 2024, earning $122 million.
The highest income this year was earned by footballer Cristiano Ronaldo - $260 million. The top 10 also included representatives from football, boxing, basketball, and golf.
