Borussia banned players' families from the dressing room: reason - incident with Bellingham's father.
Dortmund banned players' families from entering the dressing room
According to The Sun: Borussia Dortmund decided to prohibit players' families from entering the club's dressing room. This decision was made after Job Bellingham's father attempted to confront coach Niko Kovac during halftime of the match against St. Pauli, when Job was substituted at halftime in a game that ended 3:3.
Bellingham, who signed with Dortmund for 32 million pounds this summer, made his first Bundesliga start in that match. Despite Dortmund leading 1:0 at halftime, St. Pauli equalized five minutes after the break and later took the lead 3:1. Unfortunately, Dortmund squandered the advantage and finished the game in a 3:3 draw.
Bellingham's father was outraged by the decision to substitute his son and had a heated discussion with Dortmund's sporting director about it.
The club has now changed its protocol, prohibiting all family members from entering the dressing room. Dortmund's director Lars Ricken confirmed this decision, stating that their goal is to avoid similar situations in the future.
Ricken noted that the Bellingham family was emotionally charged after Job's first match in the Bundesliga and wanted to discuss the game with club representatives. However, to prevent similar incidents, they limited dressing room access only to players, coaches, and officials.
Kovac, disappointed with the team's performance, expressed his dissatisfaction with the 3:3 draw, especially after leading 3:1. On the other hand, Bellingham emphasized that his move to Dortmund was not intended to follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Jude, who currently plays for Real Madrid.
During the match Borussia Dortmund - St. Pauli, the family of player Job Bellingham expressed emotions after his first game in the Bundesliga, leading to a conflict with the coaching staff. In connection with this, the club banned all players' families from attending the dressing room to avoid similar situations in the future. This decision aims to support internal order and discipline within the team.Read also
