Chanel Brand Chose Leontovych's 'Shchedryk' for its Christmas Advertisement.

The advertisement for Chanel No. 5 features the song 'Shchedryk' by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych. The famous Italian model Vittoria Ceretti starred in a Christmas photoshoot for the Chanel brand. The video was published on Chanel's official page.
In the video, the model is in a house among snow-covered mountains, dreaming of a fairy-tale winter atmosphere. To the sounds of 'Shchedryk', her wishes come true, and fluffy snow begins to fall.
It is worth noting that Carol of the Bells is one of the most popular Christmas songs in the world. The video features an English text of the carol, which was written by American composer of Ukrainian descent Peter Wilhowsky.
On most music platforms, the author of the music for Carol of the Bells is credited as the 92-year-old American composer John Williams, who also composed music for well-known films such as 'Star Wars', 'Indiana Jones', 'Jurassic Park', 'Jaws', 'Home Alone', and 'Harry Potter'. He created an arrangement of Mykola Leontovych's melody.
After the tours of Oleksandr Kosytsia's choir in European countries in 1919 and the USA in 1922, 'Shchedryk' became known not only in Ukraine but all over the world. After popular American composer of Ukrainian descent Petro Wilhowsky wrote English lyrics for the composition 'Shchedryk' in 1936, the English version of the song, known as 'Carol of the Bells', became one of the most popular Christmas songs in the world. Today, 'Shchedryk' can be heard everywhere – in English, German, Spanish, Japanese, and many other languages.
We remind you that the band 'Antytila' together with the Viryovka ensemble and 'Zernyatko' created the English-language composition Carol for the Charity.
