Young Manchester United defender granted leave due to family tragedy.
Manchester United supports Rhys Bennett
According to The Sun: Manchester United is providing psychological support to young defender Rhys Bennett. The captain, who helped his team win the Youth League Cup, received the devastating news at the age of 21 that his father had committed suicide. Bennett, who spent last season on loan at League Two club Fleetwood Town, has been granted leave by the club for family reasons.
“This is a difficult time for me and my family. I am grateful to the club for their support,” said Bennett.
Manchester United continues to support him during this challenging period.
This situation highlights the importance of emotional support in sports and demonstrates how clubs can become a crucial support system for their players during the toughest times. Mental health is just as important as physical fitness, therefore supporting team spirit and the personal well-being of players should remain a priority for clubs.
