Ukrainian military suspects that unknown drones flying over the military base in Schwesing may be used for spying. According to Spiegel, a German magazine, six such incidents were recorded in January.
Even with the use of specialized jamming devices, the German military was unable to intercept the drones or locate their pilots. This has caused serious outrage and necessitates an investigation.
Schwesing is an important area where German soldiers receive training on the use of the Patriot air defense system. Ukrainian military personnel also train at this base. It is known that Russian security services are interested in this base, especially due to the training on the use of Patriot systems.
