Part of Ukraine covered by dust cloud: when the situation will improve.
A dust storm is observed in several Ukrainian cities. Residents of Poltava, Dnipro, and Kharkiv report a dust cloud that appeared in the air at night.
This was reported by the web resource "Khvylya".
Videos showing reduced visibility in the cities due to dust in the air have started appearing on social media.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the dust cloud moving from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan can be seen on the map
Experts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center explain that this situation will last until Friday. Then the wind direction will change to the south and west. They also note that dust will cover Ukraine in waves, meaning there will be alternating improvements and deteriorations in visibility and air quality.
The dust storm will also reach the territory of Kyiv region on October 1 and 2, but its intensity will be lower. However, for the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions, the deterioration in air quality may also be related to the movement of carbon monoxide from the northeast beyond Ukraine on October 1.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Ukraine has fallen victim to a dust storm. In April this year, dust from the African Sahara desert covered a significant part of Europe, including Ukraine. People complained about "rusty" traces on cars, plant leaves, and windows after the rain.
