Charli XCX returns to the studio after disputes with Taylor Swift

According to The Sun: Charli XCX announced her return to the recording studio after fans began to suspect that Taylor Swift's new track contained disses aimed at her.

Taylor, 35, released her 12th album The Life Of A Showgirl on Friday, which included the song Actually Romantic.

This happened just a few hours after Taylor reportedly released a track that includes disses aimed at Charli.

During the official premiere of A Showgirl in UK cinemas, Taylor described this track as a “love letter to someone who hates you.”

Taylor sings: “I heard you called me ‘Boring Barbie’ when drugs made you brave.
“Shook hands with my ex, then you said you were glad he left me.”

After the release, Charli, 33, shared a photo on Instagram in a white sheer dress.

In the photo, she stands on the floor and looks up.

The photo gallery also included an image of her smoking a cigarette with friends at a party.

Today, the Boom Clap hitmaker posted a video from the studio recording just a few hours after Taylor's diss was released.

Fans began to speculate that Charli was working on a response track. One of them wrote: “Release that track in response, girl.”

Another commenter added: “Oh, I’m ready for Taylor’s responses.”

A third commented: “Did Taylor really bring you back from vacation, huh?”

Taylor sat in the director's chair explaining the meaning of the track during the screening.

Taylor said: “Sometimes you don’t know that you’re part of someone else's story, but you are, and then there are moments when it opens up for you.”
“There are things they do that are very obvious. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to think: ‘Oh God, thank you so much. You did so much for that.’ 'It’s nice... I don’t hate you and I don’t think about it, but like, thank you for all the effort.”

Taylor had a brief romance with The 1975's frontman, Matty Healy, in 2023.

Charli's boyfriend, George Daniel, is the drummer of that band.

Last year, Charli released the song Sympathy Is A Knife, in which she sings about her insecurities in the context of “one girl” — it is believed to be about Taylor.

However, Charli denied that it was about Taylor, stating: “The song is about me and my feelings, my anxiety.”

The first sign of a rift in their friendship appeared after Charli supported Taylor on her Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018.

In an interview with Pitchfork, Charli noted: “I’m so grateful that [Taylor] invited me to that concert. But as an artist, I somehow felt like I went on stage to wave at five-year-olds.”

After those words, Charli tweeted: “There is absolutely no critique, just love.”

Their music and relationships are of extraordinary interest, and with each new release, the situation likely becomes even more intriguing. Fans expect that new tracks may shed light on this complicated friendship and rivalry in the industry.
