Good news for Cheryl after her horrifying experience with a stalker

According to The Sun: Cheryl can finally calm down a bit after a difficult period related to a stalker, media reports.

The singer's torment ended this week when Daniel Bannister was sentenced to 12 months in prison for violating a restraining order and visiting her home.

Now that Bannister is behind bars, Cheryl can remember Liam Payne as she marks the first anniversary of his tragic death next month without fearing for her safety.

“Cheryl was in a really bad place, it was a real nightmare – she was afraid to even step outside her front door,” a source told OK! magazine.

“It was very difficult for her and Bear, and after the tragedy with Liam, it was the last thing she needed.”

Cheryl noted that Bannister's behavior left her feeling “disturbed” and “unsafe in her own home” in a testimony read in court.

He began his stalking on January 25, 2024, visiting her mansion. Following that, the court imposed a restraining order.

The man continued the harassment despite court orders. It is known that Bannister attempted to contact her again on June 19.

“I get nervous and anxious every time I open the gate. No one should feel that way while going about their business.”

The court also noted that Cheryl had to hire additional security to ensure her and her son's safety.

Judge Allan Blake prohibited Bannister from contacting the singer, including online and on social media, warning that if he violated it, he would end up behind bars again.
