The State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure has begun construction of the third level of passive protection at the substations of NEC «Ukrenergo». However, international partners do not consider it appropriate to finance such an expensive project without testing this technology.
The European Commission is also working to increase the maximum supply of electricity to Ukraine.
According to the former head of «Ukrenergo» Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Ukrainian energy facilities will have three levels of protection in the form of engineering fortifications in case of Russian attacks.
