American employers complain about Generation Z employees.
Challenges faced by Generation Z in the office
After returning to the office, young Generation Z individuals are facing difficulties due to their lack of experience in an offline environment. According to The San Francisco Standard, these workers often exhibit an unconventional attitude towards office culture. For example, during interviews, candidates from Generation Z sometimes arrive with their parents, which is understandably not acceptable for potential employers.
“Due to a cultural clash, the decision was made to involve etiquette experts to teach younger employees basic workplace behavior rules”
One such coach, Rosalinda Randall, noted an increase in demand for training on workplace behavior. She conducts seminars for employees where topics such as personal hygiene, norms of office communication, and other aspects of work culture are discussed. At the same time, Generation Z representatives prefer staying in hotels instead of renting accommodations, considering it a more comfortable and practical option.
Returning to office premises after a longer period of remote work has its peculiarities, especially for the young generation. Involvement of etiquette experts and training on office culture are becoming essential elements of adapting Generation Z representatives to the offline work environment.Read also
