Easter Egg Prices Drop Across Ukraine: What Major Retailers Are Charging.
Egg Prices Declining in Ukrainian Supermarkets
According to Novyny.live: As Easter approaches, shoppers in Ukraine are seeing noticeable price drops on eggs, particularly at the ATB retail chain. As of April 2, 2026, the average cost for a pack of category C1 eggs ranges between 87.05 and 87.23 UAH. At ATB, a single egg now costs 6.63 UAH, down from 6.89 UAH on March 17, 2026.
Egg Prices Across Different Store Chains
Other supermarket chains are also offering reduced egg prices:
- ATB has the cheapest pack at 80.60 UAH
- Silpo - 65.91 UAH
- Varus - 69.80 UAH
- Novus - 78.99 UAH
- Metro - 79.50 UAH
- Fora - 79.50 UAH
- Auchan - 80 UAH
- MegaMarket - 85 UAH
Notably, Varus is offering a 5% discount on individual eggs, bringing the price down to 5.99 UAH from 6.29 UAH.
Despite these price reductions, production costs in Ukraine have risen by 15–20%. This reflects the country's challenging economic climate, which continues to impact food prices. The consumer price index for March stood at 101.55%, signaling a broader upward trend in the cost of essential goods.
As a result, Ukrainians can take advantage of lower egg prices, especially during the holiday season. However, ongoing economic pressures may influence future price movements.
The current drop in prices may stem from seasonal shifts in supply and demand. Still, rising production costs point to potential difficulties for producers down the line. This could lead to price volatility in the coming months, particularly if inflation continues to affect Ukraine's food market.
