Starting from 2025, Ukrainians are facing a new rise in tariffs for water supply and sewage. In some settlements, water prices have increased by more than 12 percent. The largest price increase concerns the Hristynivka City Council of Cherkasy Oblast, where the water supply tariff has increased by 12.6%, while the sewage tariff has risen by 8.8%.

Residents of the city of Ukrainka in Kyiv Oblast have also witnessed a significant rise in water prices. The cost of services reached 114.9 hryvnias per cubic meter, although a year ago it was only 79.17 hryvnias.

'Since January, the water supply tariff is 55.67 hryvnias per cubic meter, and the centralized sewage tariff is 59.28 hryvnias.'

Some regions are preparing for a tariff increase starting from February 1, 2025. The KP 'Teplovodopostachannia' of Kharkiv Oblast plans to increase the tariff nearly threefold - from 45.88 to 127.82 hryvnias per cubic meter.

According to legislation, in large cities, tariffs are set by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities, while in settlements with a population of up to 100,000, this right belongs to local authorities.

Legislation does not guarantee public discussion on tariff changes

Experts note that most consumers find out about price increases only after they are implemented.

The situation with the rise in tariffs for water supply and sewage in large cities, including Kyiv, remains stable for now.

Let us remind you that earlier it was reported about the possible imposition of penalties for utility services for debtors.
