Fans demand Ruben Amorim's resignation after humiliating defeat
According to The Sun: Ruben Amorim has been accused of ineptitude after his Manchester United team suffered a humiliating defeat in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby.
The Manchester United team had to fight back from 0-2 against a League Two club to equalize and take the game to penalties, but ultimately lost in the 18-minute endgame.

Amorim's team clearly lagged behind their opponents throughout the game, and even a late goal from Harry Maguire failed to improve the situation.
However, Amorim's actions on the sidelines provoked real outrage among supporters.
The Portuguese coach is clearly under immense pressure after yet another defeat, and fans began to mock him for experimenting with tactics during the match while the team was losing 0-2.
TV cameras captured Amorim trying to adjust something on his tactical board while the team was already in a dire situation.
Outraged fans reacted actively on social media. One wrote: “He should be fired before the bus leaves the stadium. This is unacceptable.”
Another commented: “He’s playing tic-tac-toe during the match!”

Our players shone thanks to the quality execution from Bryan Mbeumo and a goal from Maguire, but even this did not satisfy fans, who found another reason to criticize the coach.
During the penalty shootout, fans noticed that Amorim 'hid' in the coaching box, trying to avoid watching the tense struggle.
One fan wrote: “Sorry, but I don’t want a coach who is afraid to watch a penalty shootout against a League Two team. Sort it out or leave.”
Another added: “Amorim hiding during this penalty shootout is a disgrace.”
A third noted: “A coach who can’t even watch his team against a League Two opponent. Decide who you are playing.”
A fourth summarized: “Amorim can pack his bags. He couldn't even watch the penalties, coward.”
Time for one last chance
Pressure on Amorim has significantly increased after such a defeat.
The 40-year-old coach is likely running out of time and will need to produce results on Saturday when United hosts Burnley at Old Trafford.
He has only won one of the last seven matches in all competitions, and his win percentage is slightly above 37% since his appointment.
After the defeat to Grimsby, Amorim hinted that his team is not playing for him:
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if we bounce back or not, what matters are the signs the team showed during the game. I think the team that played better won, the only team that was on the field.”
“Better players lose because one team can win against any group of players, and I believe the team and players spoke very loudly today, that’s it. We lost, the better team won.”
“I believe this is very clear, so let’s leave this day behind.”
“The way we started the game with no intensity, all the ideas about pressure, we were completely lost.”

The outcome will depend on how Amorim can reorganize his team ahead of a crucial match. If he cannot find a way to lift the players' spirits and achieve results, his position will remain under threat. The next game will be critically important for determining the coach's future. Read also
