The state border between Switzerland and Italy has changed: what caused it.

The state border between Switzerland and Italy was adapted due to the melting of glaciers caused by climate changes. This was reported by Swissinfo.
According to the report, a large part of the Swiss-Italian border is defined by glaciers and snowfields. Such natural elements change and affect the boundaries between the countries as the glaciers melt. Changes were made in the areas of Monte Rosa, Cabane des Grands and Gobba di Rollin.
It is also worth noting that in May 2023, the Italian-Swiss commission agreed on a project that takes into account the interests of both countries.
In addition, Switzerland made changes to the border with France. In the canton of Geneva, the laying of a new cross-border tram line led to minor changes in the border between the municipalities of Perly-Certoux and Bardonnex.
According to the report, Switzerland and France will exchange equivalent sections of territory. Other changes in the border between France and Switzerland are related to works on the river Hermance and on the embankment of the river Foron.
It is noteworthy that in Switzerland, the police are investigating a case against a 64-year-old American woman who used the Sarco suicide capsule. Several people were also detained for assisting in the suicide.
