Dynamo became the champion of Ukraine in football ahead of schedule.
Dynamo - championship gold
In the 29th round of the Premier League, Kyiv's 'Dynamo' drew with Odesa's 'Chornomorets' and clinched the championship victories. This is already the 30th championship for the team, which holds the record for the number of victories in the territories of the former USSR and independent Ukraine.
The team under the leadership of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi may finish the season without a defeat, which will happen for the first time since the 2014/2015 season. Shovkovskyi became the seventh Dynamo player to win championship gold both as a player and as a coach.
Vitalii Buyalskyi and Andrii Yarmolenko won their fourth championship titles in their careers. Moreover, for the latter, the gap from the first gold set of awards is 16 years.
In the final of the Cup of Ukraine, 'Dynamo' lost to 'Shakhtar' in a penalty shootout, failing to score the decisive shot. 'Shakhtar' is now a 14-time champion of the Cup of Ukraine.
In the semifinals, 'Shakhtar' defeated 'Polissia', while 'Dynamo' claimed victory over 'Bukovyna' with a score of 4:1.
