Dynamo fails to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 20 years: how much the club lost on elimination
For the first time in two decades, there will be no Ukrainian team in the group stage of the Champions League. Kyiv's 'Dynamo' ended its journey in the third qualifying round, losing to Cypriot 'Pafos.'

This was a blow not only to the club's sporting ambitions but also to its finances, reports the Novyny.LIVE portal.

If the Kyivans had advanced further, they would have guaranteed at least 4.29 million euros. This amount is set for teams that are eliminated in the playoff round of the Champions League and move to the Europa League group, where they start competing for new prizes.

Reaching the group stage of the Champions League would have brought 'Dynamo' at least 18.89 million euros in guaranteed payments. These funds consist of a fixed share for all participants, bonuses for UEFA rankings, and a percentage of media rights sales for the tournament.

Moreover, performing in the group would have opened up opportunities for additional earnings through wins and draws. Each win at this stage is valued at 2.1 million euros, while a draw is worth 700 thousand. Additionally, bonuses for final placement in the group are included, even for last place — that is another 275 thousand.

After being eliminated by 'Pafos', 'Dynamo' lost the chance for a significant portion of these funds. However, the team still has the opportunity to offset some of the losses if it makes it to the group stage of the Europa League, where substantial prizes are also available.

Let us remind you that Kyiv's 'Dynamo' set an anti-record in the history of Ukrainian football in European cups.

The head coach of 'Dynamo' Oleksandr Shovkovskyi may be dismissed, and Ihor Surkis will make a decision in the coming days.

The general director of 'Pafos' explained how his team managed to defeat Kyiv's Dynamo in the Champions League.

Ukrainian 'Dynamo' exited the Champions League in the third qualifying round, which not only impacted the club's sporting prospects but also its chances of obtaining significant financial benefits. Reaching the group stage of the Champions League and participating in this tournament would have allowed 'Dynamo' to guarantee million-euro earnings and receive additional financial bonuses for successes in play.
