After competing at a height of 2.28 m, Oleg Doroshchuk shared second place with JuVaughn Harrison, being surpassed by Hamish Kerr from New Zealand. The Ukrainian athlete had to use additional attempts at previous heights to achieve the bronze medal.

After the competition, Oleg Doroshchuk admitted that his result was 'terrible' due to a lack of proper training caused by a knee injury. The athlete hopes to improve his form for future Diamond League stages and correct mistakes in his jumping technique.
