Tragedy at Luhansk's 'Zorya'
Today in Ukrainian football, there was a shock: on August 6th, 25-year-old footballer Volodymyr Bilocerkovets, who played for Luhansk's 'Zorya', died. The cause of his death has not yet been officially disclosed, but according to unofficial information, he was found under the window of the high-rise building where he lived on the 18th floor.
'Zorya' informed only the players about the cause of death
According to journalist Igor Burbas, the club's management informed the players that it was 'the choice of the footballer himself', which may indicate suicide. Final conclusions remain with the investigation that is currently ongoing.
Volodymyr Bilocerkovets began his career in the academies of 'Metalist' and 'Zorya' and made his debut for 'Zorya' in 2020. In the 2024/2025 season, he returned to 'Zorya' after playing for 'Ingulec', where he played ten matches in the UPL and provided one assist. After a serious injury, he returned to training but did not make the squad for the first round match of the UPL against LNZ (0:0).
