The Norwegian talent has always had his surname on the back during his appearances for 'Red Bull Salzburg', 'Borussia' Dortmund, and 'Manchester City'.

However, when he takes to the field for Norway, his jersey will read 'Braut Haaland', which corresponds to his full family name following Norwegian tradition.

Norway currently sits atop its group, having secured the maximum 12 points from the initial four matches, and has a strong chance of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

It is worth noting that the team failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

Norway's next match will be in a friendly against Finland, followed by qualifying games for the World Cup against Moldova on September 9.

The head coach of the national team, Stale Solbakken, admitted that he was unaware of the name change.

“This is his name [Braut], it is no longer that complicated. I knew nothing about this until now.”

On Instagram, Erling Haaland's name is listed as 'Erling Braut Haaland', followed by over 38 million people.

Haaland will add his middle name to the Norwegian jersey ahead of the September friendlies.

This is not the only change that the blonde footballer has recently showcased.

Last week, Haaland arrived at 'Manchester City' training in a brand new Ferrari worth £350,000.

The striker arrived at the Etihad campus in a shiny silver-blue Ferrari 12Cilindri.

The base price of the car is £350,000, but it indeed possesses impressive specifications.

Its V12 engine delivers 830 hp and can accelerate to a shocking top speed of 211 mph.

The name change on the jersey within the context of Norwegian cultural traditions indicates the player’s desire to emphasize his roots, which may also have a positive impact on team spirit. Furthermore, the stylish car that Haaland impressed with upon his arrival demonstrates that he is not only a talented footballer but also a successful personality off the pitch.
