Romanian club received a deduction of 94 points: what is the reason for the scandal.
The largest in history: a club in Europe has been deducted 94 points
According to The Sun: The Romanian football club FC U Craiova is facing exclusion from all competitions due to financial issues that have led to the largest point deduction in the history of football.
However, regarding the proof of meeting their obligations, they may be excluded from all FRF/LPF/AJF competitions.
FC U Craiova received a record 94-point deduction from the Romanian Football Federation for failing to meet financial obligations to former club staff.
The club had to face this penalty due to non-payment of wages to former coaches, staff, and players. Additionally, failure to meet financial obligations to competitors from Dinamo Bucharest also led to the record point deduction.
Despite the significant difficulties, the owner of Craiova, Adrian Mititelu, is confident they will avoid further penalties.
The massive point deduction for FC Craiova exceeds even the THREE-TIME point deductions faced by large Italian clubs like AC Milan, Fiorentina, and Lazio for their involvement in the Calciopoli match-fixing scandal.
After failing to meet financial obligations to former staff and competitors, FC U Craiova has received a record deduction of 94 points, which could severely complicate their fate in future competitions.Read also
