Evacuation Efforts Persist in Donetsk
According to UATV: Evacuations from Ukrainian-controlled areas of the Donetsk region are ongoing. In the past month alone, 7,000 people have left, including 12,000 children. Approximately 190,000 individuals remain in these areas, raising significant concerns for their safety. This exodus reflects the persistent and severe dangers in one of the war's most active fronts.
Recent Operations and Supporting Groups
Over the last ten days, an additional 53 people, 11 of them children, have been successfully evacuated. This critical work is facilitated by initiatives like 'White Angels' and 'Phoenix,' which actively assist in relocating people from hazardous zones.
Vadym Filashkin noted: 'In just one month, about 7,000 people have left Donetsk region. I thank them for leaving, for protecting themselves and their loved ones.'
These evacuations are a vital step in safeguarding the residents who choose to stay in Donetsk. The situation demands constant vigilance, especially as Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation has reported on mobilization activities in occupied territories, adding another layer of anxiety for locals.
The population outflow continues against a backdrop of escalating security threats linked to the reported mobilization. By departing, people seek to ensure their own safety and that of their families, underscoring the gravity of the circumstances. Amid the protracted conflict, sustaining all evacuation efforts is crucial, as they save lives and mitigate risks for the civilian population.
