The EU will allocate 20 million euros for Moldova's air defense: what is the reason for the decision.

According to ТСН: This year, the European Union plans to allocate 20 million euros to enhance Moldova's air defense.

European foreign policy chief Josep Borrell announced this.

"The violation of Moldova's airspace by Russian drones is unacceptable and poses a threat to civilian air traffic," Borrell stated.

He also emphasized the importance of EU investments in the security of the country: "Moldova's sky cannot become a victim of Russia's war," he added.

Recently, it became known that as a result of Russia's combined attack on Ukraine, Russian drones were recorded in Moldova's airspace.

In particular, on November 25, a drone of the type "Gerbera" fell in the settlement of Cuhurăuș, Florești district, landing on the roof of a local guard's house.

Thus, EU investments in Moldova's air defense become an important step in enhancing the country's security. This also indicates Europe's concern regarding the destabilization of the region, especially in the context of increasing aggression from Russia. Moldova, as a neighboring state to Ukraine, must be prepared for possible threats that may affect its territorial integrity and citizen security.
