Frustrated Hamilton said:

“Sorry, guys”
to his Ferrari team after the incident at turn 3, before picking up the debris of his broken car.

This accident was a serious blow for Hamilton, as he was looking to achieve a positive result after the summer break and wanted “just to enjoy” his driving. However, during the Hungarian stage he expressed his pessimism, calling himself “useless” and urging Ferrari to “change the driver”.

Practice sessions and recovery plans

The 40-year-old driver has failed twice during practice sessions in Zandvoort. First, he crashed into the wall, and later repeated this trick during the second practice.

During the summer break, Hamilton spent time with family, friends, and his beloved dog Ross, as well as engaging in physical exercises and meditation. The seven-time Formula 1 champion enjoyed sunny days at the coast, visiting Capri, Positano, and Maiori on the Amalfi Coast.

When asked about the importance of regaining the joy of racing, he noted:

“That's probably the most important part because that's what got me into this sport.”
“It was fun for me. In any career you have, if you are not enjoying what you are doing, then why do it?”

Hamilton wanted to return to what brought him joy, stating that:

“There was so much noise that it significantly took us away from enjoying.”
