Gemma Collins: 'I Will Never Be Thin'

According to The Sun: Gemma Collins claims that she has no plans to become slim, despite 'life-changing' fat injections helping her overcome her food addiction.

The reality star, who is a symbol of abundance, now eats just once a day after battling with her body for two decades.

The 45-year-old icon of the series 'TOWIE' emphasized in an interview with The Sun:

“I have nothing against thin people, but I will never be thin.”

She added:

“Honey, I have become most famous while being myself. If I suddenly become very thin, that will kill my brand, my sponsors, and I will no longer be myself. I have been successful because I was myself, and I have no intention of changing that for anyone.”
And she continued:
“God made me the way I am, and now I just accept my natural body size. I love my hips. I love my curves. I will never be thin, and I have come to terms with that. Everyone should accept that.”

Fighting the Pressure to Be Slim

Gemma spoke about the pressure she feels in public while celebrating the opening of Paddy Power and Hippodrome Casinos Paddy's Sportsbook. She struggled with weight gain after being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome at age 28, reaching over 23 stone and size 26 at her heaviest.

After she started using the NHS-approved Mounjaro injections for weight loss in November 2024, Gemma noted, although she does not disclose her weight, that she has lost more than three stone.

Now she emphasizes that her attitude towards food has changed, focusing on the impact of size on health rather than just appearance.

Gemma, who was in a relationship with James 'Arg' Argent, also remarked:

“I have never had an unattractive man. Men love me as I am. I am a very attractive woman.”

She added:

“I love myself and I'm not ashamed of it. I don't care about other people's opinions. I was unapologetically myself in TOWIE and still am now at 45.”

Gemma noted that the injections help her not to focus on food, now she eats only once a day and does not snack:

“I lived in fear of food all day, and now it's no longer the main component of my life.”

She added:

“These injections are not for everyone, but they can be life-changing for some people when used properly and in moderation. They have helped me a lot.”

Celebrating the New Partnership

Gemma celebrated the opening of the first fully licensed betting club in the UK, located at Leslie Square in London, after becoming the new face of Paddy Power this year. At the celebration, she was not alone - she was joined by other brand ambassadors such as Peter Crouch and Danny Dyer, as well as jockey Gary Cobden and boxing champion Shannon Courtenay.

The modern establishment, decorated in the style of ancient Rome, was created to provide exceptional experiences for live sports and entertainment, with space for 120 guests.

Gemma commented on her new partnership with Paddy Power:

“Paddy Power is the perfect option for me. It's loud, proud, I love having fun and not taking life too seriously.”

She added:

“I love that we can go to the casino, dress up fancy, and have fun with friends.”
Gemma Collins' honest statements about self-identification and self-acceptance are an important reminder in a world where the pressure to be slim often prevails. Her story demonstrates how crucial it is to find inner peace and not succumb to external beauty standards. This can be a valuable example for those facing similar challenges.
