Football rules may undergo significant changes if proposals from IFAB are accepted. One of them concerns the penalty rules, where possible cancellation of rebounds after the shot may occur. Another change involves expanding the authority of VAR to situations with corner kicks and second yellow cards.
Changes in football are discussed at IFAB, - reports the news agency The Times.
The main idea is to cancel rebounds after a penalty kick. If the goalkeeper saves it or the shot hits the post, the moment will be considered completed.
It is noted that these proposals have already sparked active discussions among specialists and football fans. If they come into effect, the game may change significantly, increasing fairness and reducing inaccuracies during matches.
Such changes will apply to both penalty rules and VAR authority, pushing football to a new level of officiating and contentious situations on the field.
