Harris wants to hold a second round of debates with Trump.
US presidential candidate Kamala Harris from the Democratic Party has expressed a desire to hold additional debates with her Republican opponent Donald Trump. This was reported by the Harris team after the first debates, which took place on September 10. The decision to hold repeat debates was made even before the candidates' speeches. Harris's campaign manager announced that the American public needs to see the choice between Harris and Trump, between moving forward and going back. Her team is ready for additional debates, but it is not yet clear whether Trump will accept this proposal. Fox News has also offered its platform for the debates in October. It is expected that the Harris campaign will insist on keeping the candidates' microphones on throughout the event.
The Harris team's proposal for second debates is related to the campaign's efforts to give the Vice President more Time to address undecided voters, many of whom are less familiar with Harris than with Trump. If Trump agrees, the second round of debates could take place separately from the debates between vice presidential candidates Tim Walz and J.D. Vance.
