The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin should understand that the war in Ukraine was a mistake. He expressed this in an interview with MSNBC and emphasized that the Russian economy is not limitless, and Putin cannot constantly lose Russians in military operations. The minister believes that the military conflict can be stopped by restoring international law and international borders.

Sikorski supported President Zelensky's 'victory plan', but emphasized the need for maximum assistance to Ukrainian allies. He also stated that he does not wish to comment on the details of this plan. The minister highlighted the importance of financial support for Ukraine in order to equip the army with proper weapons and ammunition.

Sikorski pointed out that Ukraine has its own defense industry, but needs additional resources to help it resist Russia. He called for several billion dollars to be provided to Ukraine so that Putin would understand that victory is impossible. The minister also emphasized that to end the conflict, troops from both sides need to be withdrawn to internationally recognized borders.

It is worth noting that Poland supports Ukraine, but has its own demands on it. According to Sikorski, Crimea plays an important role in possible peaceful negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, so a possible option is to transfer the peninsula under the UN mandate. During his visit to Ukraine, the minister called on NATO and the democratic world to expedite the supply of necessary weapons, including air defense and missile defense systems.
