On Sunday, November 3, the head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, led the divine liturgy at Saint-Sulpice, one of the largest churches in Paris. This was reported by the information department of the UGCC.
Together with His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Apostolic Nuncio in France Archbishop Celestino Migliore, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of St. Vladimir UGCC Bishop Hlib Lonchyna with priests concelebrated. The liturgy was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko with his family, the CEO of the charitable organization "East's Deed", the Vicar General of the Ordinariate for Eastern Catholics of France Pascal Gollnisch, representatives of Ukrainian organizations, Ukrainians from France and Belgium.
"Today I think about the fathers, parents, Ukrainians who sometimes, even before saying goodbye to their family, embracing their loved ones for the last Time, go to Confession. They even point out to their family, relatives, and friends the One who will lift and who lifts them, and then go to defend their Motherland," said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
After the liturgy, the head of the UGCC, together with the clergy, held a memorial service for the victims of the Holodomor. The solemn ceremony honoring the memory of the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and the fighters for Ukraine's freedom took place at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
We remind you that on October 28, the head of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, met with the President of France Emmanuel Macron in Paris and gave him an unusual gift.
