Grimsby crazy father and son leave family at the airport before they take a week off to watch their beloved team make history against Man Utd.
Football fan left family at the airport
According to The Sun: A football-obsessed father said goodbye to his family at the airport for their holiday but decided to go to the game of his favorite team Grimsby.
55-year-old Rob Hufton and his 14-year-old son Harry were supposed to fly to Fuerteventura for a week, but the departure time coincided with the Carabao Cup match where Grimsby played against Manchester United.

Father and son made their way to Blundell Park Stadium and experienced an incredible victory of Grimsby over Manchester United.
Rob, an engineer, said: “Harry and I are big Mariners fans. We are season ticket holders and attend all home and away games we can.”
“When I found out about this game, I was almost breathless. I thought: ‘We are flying on holiday, and I have been waiting my whole life for this.’”
“I sat there and thought: ‘How can I solve this problem?’ And it was my wife who suggested finding another flight.”
To their great surprise, they saw the League Two team take the lead 2-0 against the Premier League players within 30 minutes.
Although two late goals from Manchester United led to a series of penalties, Grimsby won 12-11 and impressed the entire stadium.
Rob and Harry, who live in Immingham, made their way to their postponed flight after the game and arrived at East Midlands Airport in the morning, still in Grimsby gear.
Rob shared his impressions of Fuerteventura: “People came to us and shook our hands as if we were stars.”
“We would have even been happy to see just one goal. But seeing them win this way — it was beyond imagination.”

Emotions during the game
Harry added: “I am thrilled. I experienced feelings I have never felt before.”
“I would sacrifice every day of the holiday to see this game again.”
It was Grimsby's first game against United since 1948.
This event turned into a true football festival, as Grimsby’s team proved their strength by playing against one of the strongest clubs in England, while also giving their fans unforgettable experiences. The fans, as well as the father and son, had the opportunity to be part of the history of their favorite club.
Thanks to this extraordinary decision, Rob and Harry could not only enjoy the game but also gather an experience that will stay with them for a lifetime.
