Kharkiv’s Utility and Transit Situation

According to Novyny.live: Starting June 1, 2023, Kharkiv residents will see no increase in their utility bills. This measure aims to support the population amid ongoing economic difficulties. The cost of electricity for households will remain at 4.32 UAH per kWh. For those with dual-zone meters, the nighttime rate stays at 2.16 UAH per kWh. Natural gas prices for customers of the company 'Naftogaz' are also unchanged, holding at 7.96 UAH per cubic meter.

Free Public Transit Continues

Additionally, free rides on municipal transport will continue from June 1. This policy covers the following modes of transportation:

  • subway
  • trams
  • trolleybuses
  • municipal buses

The initiative is designed to ease mobility for Kharkiv’s citizens and ensure that public transit remains accessible to all segments of the population.

As a result, residents can count on stable utility rates alongside free transit, which may positively impact their daily lives. These combined measures are part of broader efforts to help locals navigate current economic pressures.

Maintaining current utility tariffs in Kharkiv during a period of economic strain is a crucial step in supporting the local community.

Free public transit also helps improve accessibility and reduce costs for residents, potentially contributing to greater social stability in the city. These actions reflect the local government’s commitment to assisting citizens in adapting to modern economic challenges and enhancing their quality of life.
