Hulu cancels the Mid-Century Modern series: why it was axed after the first season.
Cancellation of a popular Hulu show
According to The Sun: The sitcom 'Mid-Century Modern', which gained popularity on Hulu and was a result of collaboration between Hollywood and Broadway stars, has been canceled after one season.

The plot of 'Mid-Century Modern' centers on three best friends who decide to spend their retirement years together in Palm Springs after the unexpected death of one of them.
The show featured well-known actors: Matt Bomer as Jerry Frank, Nathan Lane as Bani Schneider, and Nathan Lee Graham as Arthur Broussard.
“Ten wonderful episodes... not enough. But we enjoyed creating each one of them. We will miss our very special show. Thank you to everyone who watched.”
The show was the result of the work of the creators of 'Will & Grace' - Mutchnick, David Kohan, and Ryan Murphy.
Notable in the cast was Linda Lavin, who played Sybil Schneider. This was her last role before her death in December.
Fans are outraged by the decision to cancel the show, with some even threatening to cancel their Hulu subscriptions.
One user noted: “You took one of the best gay talents (including NATHAN F***ING LANE), got the concept of a gay version of 'The Golden Girls' that works... and then you throw it in the trash after one season. Glad I canceled my Hulu account.”
Another fan added: “This is a great show. Great actors and audience. It feels like 'The Golden Girls' has been revived in a new, authentic form.”
A third user wrote: “There are hundreds of low-quality shows on all streaming platforms, and these wonderful stories are coming to an end. This is unacceptable.”
Another commentator asked: “What is wrong with Hulu? Another reason to cancel the subscription.”
Moreover, one user criticized Disney for the 'terrible decision', noting that the show deserved “many seasons.”
The plot focuses on three gay friends of a certain age, who decide to spend their golden years together in Palm Springs, where the richest among them lives with his mother.
The show premiered in 2024 and received positive reviews from critics.
