Scandal in Football Refereeing
Howard Webb, the Chief Referee of PGMOL, will appear in court next week over allegations against the organization. Former Women’s Super League (WSL) referee Lisa Benn claimed that her career was ruined due to a 'threat' from one of the officials.According to The Sun: In her statements, Benn, 34, noted:
'They have no right to behave this way. We all are part of one system that should support each other.'
This situation highlights the importance of supporting women in refereeing and the tensions that exist in the realm of professional sports. The court hearing may become a significant step in addressing issues related to gender equality and the professional environment in football.
