Mariah Carey has trademarked a name for her daughter: Monroe is preparing for a musical debut

According to The Sun: Mariah Carey is a true diva and the queen of Christmas, but now she might have competition from her own daughter. 14-year-old Monroe has every chance to become a pop star, following in her mother’s footsteps.

Mariah, who celebrated the release of her 20th album on Friday, has filed documents to trademark the name Monroe Carey, so that no one else can use it.

Through her company Lotion LLC, the singer has enlisted lawyers from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to reserve the name for everything related to live performances, audiovisual recordings, music videos, and “other entertainment information.”

‘A Wonderful Voice’

She has also secured rights to use the name for “clothing, headgear, merchandise promoting a musical artist.”

The trademark application is currently under review by government lawyers.

One music industry expert noted: “Mariah has a wealth of experience in this field and has been cautious when Monroe expressed a desire to become a musician. But she knows this is what her daughter wants, and she supports her in all her endeavors.”

“Monroe doesn’t plan to solely rely on her mother’s connections to succeed, but Mariah’s experience is invaluable.”

“This is just the beginning, but she has already been in the studio, trying her hand at recording. She has a wonderful voice, and if all goes as planned, the world will hear it soon.”

Mariah, a five-time Grammy winner, is the mother of Monroe and twin Moroccan, whom she shares with comedian Nick Cannon, to whom she was married from 2008 to 2016.

We have seen Monroe on stage several times with her mother, and she has shared videos singing on TikTok.

In 2023, Kim Kardashian posted a video in which Mariah performed the duet 'Jesus Born On This Day' with Monroe at a concert in the U.S.

The singer is set to begin her Christmas residency in Las Vegas next month, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more joint performances on stage.

ACTS STEP

New cultural events in the Las Vegas area are becoming increasingly popular.

Naomi Campbell kicked off a party by stepping behind the DJ booth at the new Italian restaurant Carbone in Dubai.

The star looked incredibly stylish in a metallic dress. The VIP party also featured rapper Central Cee, model Iris Law, and Liam Gallagher's son.

The hotel Atlantis: The Royal On The Palm looks simply fantastic, but the cost of staying there starts from £500 per night. While it sounds appealing, I would likely opt for another option.

And in 2023, there was a grand event with a concert by Beyoncé, accompanied by a spectacular firework display and many other entertainments.

JUSTIN ON THE GOLF COURSE

JUSTIN BIEBER shocked his fans by moving from Los Angeles to Scotland... well, almost.

The 'Sorry' singer is vacationing in St. Andrews after releasing two albums this summer.

In casual attire, Justin posed with his beer, admiring the sunset on the city streets.

The Canadian star stayed at the luxurious Gleneagles Resort with his friends for a lavish golfing getaway. This resort is known for its famous guests like Liam Gallagher and Jennifer Lawrence.

Hopefully, next time Justin is in the UK, he comes for a concert. It has been a while since his performances.

LUIS IN THE STUDIO

LUIS CAPALDI is such a good host that he’s setting up a tea station in his new music studio, even though he doesn't personally love the drink.

I reviewed the plans for the new studio he is building in his luxurious mansion near Glasgow and noticed there will be a special area for making tea.

The space will be framed with bookshelves and will include two balconies. However, according to Luis, he’s not particularly excited about the idea.

“I don’t drink tea because hot drinks make me sweat. And I generally don’t like cold drinks that used to be hot.”

Maybe you should keep water in the studio when you're there, Luis.

The Bizarre collective are big fans of Pitbull, and now he has secured his biggest show in the UK, headlining BST Hyde Park in London on July 10 with support from Kesha.

That’s not all, as they will also perform at the Roundhay Festival in Leeds on July 3 next year, and Pitbull has scheduled performances in Belfast, Glasgow, Dublin, and Limerick roughly around the same time.

KATY PERRY has started working on new music – and Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic is helping her with it.

The singer, who kicked off her UK Lifetimes tour in Belfast on Saturday, is recording in the studio with the American singer-songwriter who has worked on hits for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

After a fan tweeted that they would love to see Ryan working on her seventh album, he replied with a winking emoji: “We have had sessions – we’ll see.”

Expanding on this information, Ryan added: “We’ve had a few sessions, she’s a friend, I’ve known her since she was 16.”

“Sessions don’t always lead to an album, but she’s the best and an icon, and I always want her to succeed.”

SIR ROD'S PARTY COSTS

SIR ROD STEWART can celebrate at a level that not everyone can at his age.

The 'Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?' singer donned a bright orange jacket to throw a grand party in Las Vegas, celebrating the second anniversary of his whiskey brand Wolfie.

Rod's party took place at the new speakeasy Caspian’s Cocktails & Caviar at Caesars Palace.

One guest mentioned how Rod kept afloat in the morning, consuming whiskey and not leaving the cocktail bottle.

The singer also performed his hit 'Maggie May' and impressed guests with funny jokes about wanting to approach 'Maggie.'

One guest remarked: “Rod was the life of the party – he knows how to celebrate at the highest level.”

It appears that Queen rocker Brian May is a fan of the little monsters. The music legend was spotted at Lady Gaga's third concert at London’s O2 Arena.

And he couldn’t resist filming part of the show on his phone.

It turned out his favorite songs were 'Paparazzi', 'Perfect Celebrity', and 'Killah.'

On Saturday, Gaga wrapped up her performances at the O2 before two shows in Manchester this week.

She also shared on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert that her dream is to become a mother, adding: “I hope it’s my next leading role.”

TAYLOR AND NEW RECORDS

Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

TAYLOR SWIFT just can’t stop breaking records.

Her new single 'The Fate Of Ophelia' has set a record for the most streams in a single day.

The track from her 12th studio album 'The Life Of A Showgirl', which was released on Friday, amassed over 30 million streams within 24 hours.

This figure exceeds her previous single 'Fortnight', which was successful in 2024, by 5 million streams.

The popularity of the new song is undoubtedly tied to its release in honor of her engagement to Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Meanwhile, 'The Life Of A Showgirl' may become the best-selling album of the year, as 266,960 copies were sold on its first day in the UK.

In comparison, her last album 'The Tortured Poets Department' sold 270,000 copies in its first week.

Despite the album containing only 12 tracks, which is small for Taylor, 'The Life Of A Showgirl' became popular, gathering 250 million streams worldwide on its first day.

But if you’re hoping to see the album performed live anytime soon, you have bad news.

Taylor has stated that she’s still exhausted from her grand 'Eras Tour' – the highest-grossing in history – and currently has no plans to return to the stage.

I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

After Jade took interpolation of 'Diana Ross' in her new album, former Spice Girl Mel C decided to take a similar step.

The sporty Slyka is using the 1981 song 'Work That Body' by Diana for her new single 'Sweat'.

Mel teased the track on social media, but she’s not sure she’ll get significant earnings from it, even if it becomes a hit.

Jade used 'Stop! In The Name Of Love' from Diana and 'The Supremes' in her song 'Before You Break My Heart', but noted: “I don’t receive royalties for this track – that’s how I got it.”

Hopefully, Mel will be in a better position.
