The Ukrainian wheelchair basketball team won their first match at the Invictus Games in Canada. The score of the game was 12:6 in favor of Ukraine. The team scored twelve points, while Colombia scored six. The Ukrainians opened the scoring with a two-point shot, after which they added another four points. At the end of the first period, the score was 10-3 in favor of Ukraine. In the second period, Colombia scored two points, but the Ukrainians also added at least one point to their score. At the end of the game, Colombia scored one point from a free throw.
The Ukrainian team had great support from fans who sang the Ukrainian anthem and traditional slogans. The fans also sang 'Chervona Ruta'.
Currently, Ukraine is leading Group C with two points. The next match for the Ukrainians will be against 'Team Invictus 3'.
