I’m fuming! – Grimsby goalkeeper Christy Pym stuns fans after penalty shootout heroics by admitting he’s Man Utd fan.
Christy Pym's Interesting Admission
According to The Sun: Grimsby Town goalkeeper Christy Pym shocked fans as he celebrated his team's advancement to the next round of the Carabao Cup after beating Manchester United.
Pym, who is a Manchester United fan, admitted that he was 'half sad' about the match's outcome.
AlamyDuring the match, he made several crucial saves, preventing United from going to penalties. In the shootout, he stopped a shot from Mateusz Klich.
However, only one save allowed Grimsby to stay in the tournament, and the deciding win came from Brian Mbeumo's miss on the second penalty.
“It’s still not registered,” Pym said in an interview with Sky Sports. “I’m a Manchester United fan, so I’m a bit miffed. Nights like these are what you play football for. It’s just wonderful.”
Christy Pym recently signed a two-year contract with Grimsby Town after leaving Mansfield Town.
