A student from Azad Islamic University in Tehran came out into the campus courtyard wearing only her underwear. She did this as a protest against the mandatory wearing of the hijab. The video of her actions became popular on Iranian social media.

The university administration confirmed the student's detention and declared that they are investigating her motives. They called her action "indecent".

According to the student Telegram channel Amir Kabir Newsletter, the student undressed in protest after being harassed for wearing the hijab. She did this after being criticized for not wearing a hijab or wearing it incorrectly. She also claims that her clothes were torn by the authorities.

During the arrest, the student was hit with her head against a door or a post. There are witnesses who saw blood on her face after this. A university representative stated that the detainee is under severe mental pressure and has a mental disorder.

Amnesty International demands the immediate release of the detainee.
