Israel attacked Beirut: the target was the leader of 'Hezbollah'.
On Wednesday evening, Israeli aviation struck the capital of Lebanon, Beirut. According to preliminary data, the target of the attack could have been Hashem Safieddin, the new leader of the Islamist organization "Hezbollah", who took the place of the deceased Hassan Nasrallah. This was reported by Axios.
Three Israeli officials told Axios journalists that the strike was aimed specifically at Hashem Safieddin. He heads the executive committee of "Hezbollah" and is an important leader of this paramilitary organization, as well as the cousin of the former leader, Hassan Nasrallah, who died during an Israeli airstrike last week.

According to the data, Safieddin was in an underground bunker during the attack. It is not confirmed at this time whether he was eliminated during the strike, as there is no reliable information about his death.
Lebanese media also report that the airstrike on Beirut, which took place on October 2, was significantly larger than the one that led to the death of Hassan Nasrallah on September 28.
There is currently no information about the number of casualties or injured as a result of the attack on the capital of Lebanon. A video of the strike, confirming the strength of the bombardment, has already appeared on social networks, but official sources have not yet provided detailed reports.
