This news came after a difficult year for the couple.
Jesy and Zion became parents to identical twins in May, after a high-risk pregnancy.
They required urgent medical intervention during the pregnancy, as the doctors diagnosed the twins with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome — a complex condition that occurs when blood flows improperly between identical twins sharing one placenta.
The singer also admitted that she faced a threatened miscarriage at the beginning of her pregnancy.
Challenges During Pregnancy
In a July interview after the birth of the children, Jesy stated:
“Thank you for having us. We made it!”
Reflecting on the situation, Jesy joked that the twins were 69 days old, and added:
“Ocean is receding a little bit bless her. So that’s how we can tell (them apart).”
She explained that their daughters Ocean Jade and Stormi Monroe were born prematurely at 31 weeks and 5 days, but her difficulties began early in the pregnancy.
The singer noted:
“I just had a feeling that when we first found out we were having twins, it was just incredible, we were over the moon. Zion looked like he had seen a ghost.”
Jesy also recalled that after undergoing scans, her doctor advised her to see a specialist where she received alarming information about potential complications:
“I couldn’t believe the percentages and what could happen. From that moment on, I couldn’t enjoy my pregnancy.”
Zion, holding Stormi Monroe, emphasized that his main task throughout all the difficulties was to support Jesy:
“I just felt like while Jesy was going through all of this, the only thing I could do was support her and try to stay positive.”
Jesy and Zion worked closely with their doctor Ruwan Wimalasundera, who explained all the risks associated with identical twins.
The doctor stressed that the risk of miscarriage in such cases is very high:
“This procedure is not guaranteed to be successful, and it only amplified the horror.”
Jesy underwent a high-risk procedure known as fetoscopic laser therapy to separate the blood vessels.
“Every time we went for a scan, the situation was getting worse,” she added.
Zion noted that it was a tough procedure, and they remained in the hospital for several more weeks:
“I felt safe there, I really didn’t want to go home.”
