14-year-old Pole defeats Jimmy White in the UK Snooker Championship.
Youth triumphed over experience
According to The Sun: The significantly younger 14-year-old Pole Michal Szubarczyk defeated 63-year-old Jimmy White in the qualifying round of the UK Snooker Championship. In a match held in Leeds, Szubarczyk won with a score of 6-2, putting an end to White's hopes for historic success.
“I am very happy that I managed to win against such a legendary player as Jimmy,”
said Michal after the match. White, who was trying to extend his career, was unable to demonstrate effective play, while the efforts of the young player proved to be convincing.
This victory for Szubarczyk marked an important milestone in his career and simultaneously demonstrates that young talents are capable of displacing experienced masters. White, despite the defeat, leaves behind a legendary legacy and may still be able to return to the arena in the future to try to rehabilitate himself.
